While Fury's Kiss is gut-bustingly funny, dominated by a super kickass female character and demonstrates in-depth character growth and development, I've finally deciphered what bothers me about works by Karen Chance.
When I look back at all of the books I've read, even ones from years ago, I notice that I can tell you something about what went on in that particular book, even if it's general. With Chance's books I struggle to remember why I've given them all high ratings because I draw a blank wh ...more

Re-Read Review: Kindle edition (02 Aug 2018) ✮✮✮✮✮
I'm glad a friend advised a re-read because after six years I'd forgotten a lot of what happened in this installment. Now, being fully refreshed, I'm more excited about starting Shadow's Bane, if that's even possible.

We waited so long for this book and It Doesn't Disappoint.
Mircea still has Dorina helping him in the War against the Mages and the Black Circle and when she is kidnapped and goes into a dhampir berserker rage and doesn't recognise Louis-Cesare when he comes to rescue her, Mircea wants her to take a break while he investigates ie goes back into her mind.
Dorina, while less than happy about that, agrees, then finds out what Mircea did to her mind in the past. She does however recover some childhood ...more

OMG!! How much have I missed Karen Chance? I seriously forgot how much I love this series as it has been so long since the last book. I have always preferred Dory to Cassie but this book has cemented it amongst my favourite UF series.
I was torn between wanting to savour every line and rushing through to the end to find out what happens. There is so much going on in these books but I wasn't confused and although wordy at times, I understood everything being explaine wth out needing to re-read it. ...more

I don't even know where to begin.
I wish that I would have reread the previous two books from the series, because I think I would have enjoyed this one more.
There was so much action in this book that there were times I felt overwhelmed and it made my head hurt.
Overall I really enjoyed the book, seeing the story unfold and many answers to my questions resolved.
I liked how Dory realized that her father did what he did to her in the past to protect her and I think she finally realizes that yes he us ...more
