5 stars – Vampire/Paranormal Romance

From now on, I refuse to get invested in any characters.
I don’t care if they’re the silent type with a troubled background. It doesn’t matter if they’re super cool with the kick ass moves and get the great one-liners.
I just can’t do it anymore because I’m always let down when they become the star of the show for 300 plus pages.
Anyway...
I really liked how the storyline with Dragos is progressing. I thought the plot to have Dragos try to control top levels of the government was so ridiculous it ...more

I didn't think I'd like Hunter's story because he'd so unemotional and flat in previous books, but I liked seeing the way his emotions developed.
I can't really say I enjoyed this book because it was dark, and so many difficult things happened to those in the order. However, it was a good book, one of the better ones in the series. After reading Deeper Than Midnight, I want to read Chase's book even more! Its release is way too far off as I write this! ...more

While not the best installment, it was a quick read and in line with the rest of the series. I feel like the plot of the series has moved forward a little and I am grateful. The steaminess factor has dwindled in the latest books, but they are still enjoyable little escapes from reality. There was a lot of action here and you really need some of the history of the series to not get lost, I would think. It will be interesting to see where Harvard's story takes things.

Previously I was intrigued by Hunter, especially with his origins. We did get to know a little but I have a feeling there's loads more to come. This book felt as if it was more about Corinne & her story (I'm not complaining though) and setting the scene for Harvards book, which is next. I can't wait for Harvards book especially with the way this ended!

I loved this. Hunter was a great hero and I felt Corrine was a good match for him. They had a great and very sweet romance, it was great seeing Hunter fall for Corrine. I'm really glad we're getting Nathan's story next.
