I have to admit that I was not 100% looking forward to Chase's book. I felt like he took page time away from some of the heroes I liked better in previous books. So I put it off. But I really shouldn't have. I loved Tavia as a heroine. She certainly has a lot of changes to absorb in the story and, although she starts with an understandable freak out, once she learns the truth she just wants to move forward. I think this series has gotten worse and worse with every book.
Here, pretty much every male was an asshole, even mighty Lucan was a mega jerk to Gabrielle.
Dragos demise was too easy and not suitable for such a strong character, and actually the whole end was too rushed, all worked up in a dozen pages.
I didn't quite like the twist at the end with the roges getting out and... just meh!! ...more
