This book confused me. For the longest time i thought it was about a girl whose beauty was terrible. It was a surprise to me that it was not the case. Instead it was a very very weird story. Now i'm all gun-oh for the magical and mysteries types books, but this one left me disappointed. It may be the Gothic type atmosphere and the whole weirdness of the "other world" and everything through me off. Neither of the characters did anything for me. Not much to say since it was just an "eh" type book.

This was a great and easy read. Teenagers dealing with angst and parents who don't love them or don't understand them. Escaping from their problems into magical realms which give them the power to feel powerful for a while, as oppossed to the constant feeling of being powerless - everyone else is deciding how they will live there lives. Gypsy's, psychic powers, victorian england, dead people, mysteries, magic - what is not to love.
