What I liked: I enjoyed almost everything about this book, it wasn't predictable. It had me guessing until the very end.

A lot of what is said about why this book is a great book is also said about the rest of paranormal urban fantasy romance, so it sounds like a beaten path.

However this book is truly an exception. And it's not in what happens, although the mystery is very well presented and developed and the romance is tense and frustrating at first but not in a gratuitous way to just keep the main characters apart. I'm not sure the paranormal things were explained to my full understanding and the end felt a little rushed, but by that time I didn't care--I just wanted the HEA for these two characters. I loved them both. The h was feisty and strong without being stupid, and willing to fight for her relationship. The H was suitably tormented and lonely and completely besotted of his wife despite not wanting to be. Great romance with pretty good paranormal side stories.
