I had a hard time getting into this story the first time around. Then I started it in a buddy read and really gave myself over to it and am surprised how much I enjoyed it.
Claire sometimes got on my nerves, but she ended up being a strong and fiercely loyal woman, who epitomizes the phrase "Stand by your man". Jamie, although younger than Claire is a man. Soooooooo boring at the beginning. but it gets a little better... eventually (emphasis on the "little") and then it gets boring again, then better, then boring, then better, and the cycle continues in the ever-so-long tale that is Outlander. ...more

I was unable to put this book down. Truly one of the best books I have ever read. Amazing characters. Claire and Jamie are my all time favorite couple. Diana has a true gift for storytelling and understanding human emotion. I was completely enraptured by the great storytelling and compelling writing.
