I had a hard time getting into this story the first time around. Then I started it in a buddy read and really gave myself over to it and am surprised how much I enjoyed it.
Claire sometimes got on my nerves, but she ended up being a strong and fiercely loyal woman, who epitomizes the phrase "Stand by your man". Jamie, although younger than Claire is a man. Soooooooo boring at the beginning. but it gets a little better... eventually (emphasis on the "little") and then it gets boring again, then better, then boring, then better, and the cycle continues in the ever-so-long tale that is Outlander.

I can't believe I set this aside for so long when it is such a fabulous read! It's written so good, that I fear it might have ruined me for other historical romances! Diana Gabaldon is a phenomenal writer. She writes everything to the very last detail, and the world of the book feels just too real, drawing all sorts of emotions from me. Ugh, I had a really good, long review all typed out and my computer ate it!! Grrr... Read this book. It's full of awesome. Especially since it's a soon to be hit series on STARZ this summer!
