Charley's snark does not change in this! One of Cookies' friends is missing and it's up to Charley (and Cookie) to find her. Charley also wants to help Reyes who is currently hiding his body. He is able to leave the body behind and visit Charley. If demons find her, they will have a portal to heaven. Reyes' is a portal to hell. So Reyes is in hiding to save Charley.
There are some hints r/t Charley and her abilities. I could understand Reyes' reasoning for not enlightening her, but I also found

Im really loving this series. Her sarcasm and wit has had me laughing at odd times. I listened to the audiobook and received some odd looks when I'd giggle out loud while listening to this book. I enjoy that in a story. Charley is such a vivid character, so fun and crazy. And Reyes... wow. I just want to take a bite out of him. Though I am having some doubt to him. I love Charley, she's so funny, silly-funny, so I understand why some people find her dumb and TSTL. Then again, I read as a hobby and to have fun so she works for me.
Now Reyes... I can't decide what to think of him... sometimes he's the biggest jerk and then I turn the page and I can't believe him.
And what's with the Madame whatever at the end?
I'd still be looking forward to the next one without the cliffhanger.

2.5 stars This one didn't grab me as much as the first book. It was almost too painful to read. Charley is really annoying. I'll read the next book because I like Reyes, I just won't rush to get it right away. ...more
