★★★★★ (This is a review of the audiobook.) As I’ve said before, Sophie Eastlake is not my favorite narrator. In truth, she’s one of the reasons I’ve not returned to this series in a while. That, and there was a lot of politics in the last two. But I recently read the short story #3.5 True Colors, and I thought I’d see if this talented author could capture the magic of the first book in the series. Ms. Eastlake is the reader for this audiobook series, and some people just adore her, so don’t let ...more

Reread Review: I am upgrading my review to a 4 star on rereading. I am reading each book back to back and I a sure that enhances each book but that is not why I rescored the book.

The romance and coming together of the Djinn and the Oracle as equals is powerful and touching. It is really moving romance with grief and love and healing. The world building is excellent as always. I am really glad I reread it and plan to do so again!

First Review; I enjoyed this and stayed up late to finish it. I am

An interesting mix, a Djinn Prince, Khalil, and a new Oracle, Grace, a descendant of the Delphic Oracle. Sparks fly.

This was a slow build-up to passion, with cute kids thrown in for free. Lots of familiar faces pop up and the overall story arc advances.

The sneaky bad guys seemed a little lame, despite the explosion, but the focus is definitely on Grace & Khalil.

This story was a return to the HEA goodness of Dragon Bound, and was certainly better than #2 & #3.

Lord's Fall #5 looks to continue the

I really liked the relationship between Grace and Khalil. The progression toward affection of Khalil was well handled for a being as old as him. Sometimes it seems to easy or rushed from indifferent to madly in love but this relationship sprang from an unlikely angle and I really liked it.

We first met Grace and Khalil in Serpent's Kiss when Carling and Rune showed up seeking the Oracle. Khalil, a powerful Djinn, once concerned with the balance of favors (owned and owed), now finds himself concerned about the children in Grace's care, and eventually Grace herself. Grace, now the guardian of her niece and nephew, is struggling to make ends meet while raising the two darlings. She is also trying to get a handle on her new Oracle powers, passed down to her when her sister died.

4.5*s Grace took over as oracle when her sister died, leaving her two young children in Grace's care. Grace is doing a juggling act of taking care of the children, trying to find enough money to live, keeping their ramshackle house together, and fulfilling her duties as oracle. Enter Khalil, a domineering, Powerful Djinn who took an interest in "sitting on" the children in Serpent's Kiss and became Grace's "Bane of Her Existence."

The children were absolutely adorable, and Grace was such a good "
