Kiss of Frost , the second installment in Estep's Mythos Academy series, finds Gwen giving in to peer pressure and trekking off to the Winter Carnival. While there she is determined to focus her efforts on meeting myths from the other academies. I'm not sure what it is , but two of my favourite types and this is from a long list of favourites as I'm a HUGE and ECLECTIC reader is boarding school novels and mythology. The boarding school probably stems from the fact ,that I always wished I went to boarding school but we could never afford it and the mythology stems from personal interest - I find it so fascinating. Jennifer Estep's new series Mythos Academy has it all , as I present to you Book #2 Kiss of Frost. In the first book "A touch ...more

Sooo, I followed the Mythos Academy closer than I would have, the benefits of having the next book on hand. ^·^
This was better than the first but the narrative first person point of view was still boring and repetitive. I'm starting to like Gwen and hopes she grows up more in the next book. There's something conflicting me about her but can't quite put my head on it at the moment so until then..3 stars. ;-)

I liked this one just not as much as the first one.

I liked the progression of Gwen's magic, loved Vic!
Curious about what part the Fenrir may play in the future.
Teenage drama with Logan...
The baddy was a little predictable but I'm looking forward to the next one :)

A book away from an episode of hoarders
This book started almost immediately after Touch of Frost when we're thrown into Gwen's training with Logan.

I liked this book enough to finish it in one day although I have to admit that I knew almost immediately that you-know-who was a bad guy. I was a bit surprised about the identity of the attacker from the library (as well as the reasoning behind the attacks) and thought it was a bit excessive, even for Mythos Academy.

I'm definitely going to continue the series.
