★★★★☆ I liked this one a lot. This was the first time I’ve read this author and she held my attention; I’ll be reading more of her and more of this series. I like that the female protagonist, who is a private investigator, didn't do anything TSTL. The story is very well written, well-paced, and flowed nicely, making it a fast read. (Warning: It gets a bit brutal at times.) I liked that it involved various Gods and Goddesses, not just Roman and Greek. However, I wish there was a bit more about th

Continuing my education in Mythology, I picked up this one, and surprise, surprise it was pretty good and a first in a new series at that. Nikki Glass isn't my typical UF heroine. An average girl who wasn't kick ass (more often than not, her ass were being kicked), no 4.0 GPA, no born-with-it supernatural powers (at least not yet), no hotter than hell physical assets, ehem, but very methodological and relies mostly on her gut-feel though she continually ignores it.

I marked this as 4 stars, but actually more like 4.5
I loved Nikki. She was so realistic. She's had a hard life, abandoned by her Mother at 4, put into the foster care system, moved from family to family and becoming ever more unable to trust. The Glass family takes her in and adopts her. She finally belongs, but still feels like an outsider.
She becomes a PI and has an uncanny knack for finding "lost" people. While attempting to help a client rescue someone he says has been taken into a cult-like ...more

I really enjoyed this book as it was action and mystery from start to finish!
When Nikki glady leaves a bad blind date set up by her sister to help one of her P.I clients out her life gets turned upside down when she
accidentally kills her client things go from bad to absolutely nuts!
With God's descendants and immortals showing themselves and telling her she is one of them her life turns out to be one hell after another.
A brilliant urban fantasy novel and I really can't wait to read the next one! ...more

This was a book that really didn't stand out as good or bad. I will probobly read the next one because what it did best was create some charicters who are interesting and love interests Id like to see develop, and sooooo I will give book two a shot.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book, granted it is my first book by this author. I was puzzled a bit by the characters in this story, while the 'bad' guys are definitely evil, the 'good' guys are really different shades of grey. Nothing is plainly 'good' and Nikki is quite mundane for a goddess-touched heroine. She may be good at finding things (as Artemis is the goddess of the hunt) but no super, freaky power skills. It was fun to have a UF heroine that does not have to rely on over the top
