With every book in this series I fall in love with the warriors a little bit more. Personally, I love big cat shifters but this book centres around Hawke and it's the best one yet!

With everything that happened in Hunger Untamed, book 5 in the series, I expected to find things getting back to normal around Feral House but I have never been happier to be wrong! Ecstasy Untamed worked for me better than most of the other ones. I liked both Faith and Hawk, who had a respect for humans I've rarely seen in the series, and Hawk's internal conflict with his animal added some needed depth. From past books in the series, we knew that Hawk was a nice guy who was actually hoping for a mate so I had been wondering what kind of conflict would make him think he couldn't when he met the one. This really worked for me.

There are two things I find very refreshing abou Ecstasy Untamed worked for me better than most of the other ones. I liked both Faith and Hawk, who had a respect for humans I've rarely seen in the series, and Hawk's internal conflict with his animal added some needed depth. From past books in the series, we knew that Hawk was a nice guy who was actually hoping for a mate so I had been wondering what kind of conflict would make him think he couldn't when he met the one. This really worked for me.

There are two things I find very refreshing about this series:
1. Bad things happened to Ferals who already got their HEA: just because you found your woman doesn't mean that you'll never get a scratch, like it usually happens in most series. I mean, look at what happened to poor Jag! One of the most original afflictions I've heard in PNR.
2. Past heroines help when there's trouble: Both Olivia and Delaney are ready to roll in any ocassion and even Ariana had an important role.

Now, I'm not rating this higher because of the recycled plot points. Like book #1, we have a Feral in lust with another Feral's "soon to be mate". In addition, we have almost every point I discussed in my review of Passion Untamed: - Horrible cover (what is he doing, walking about whistling?), Public sex (although this was somewhat hot when it happened), heroine gets horribly hurt (and in what way! I was cringing all the way), other Ferals want to kill her (I couldn't believe it when this came up...I was all...AGAIN?), annoying nickname (he calls her 'Smiley'...I mean, really?)

Well, at least there was no kidnapping (she got there under her own volition) and the fight with the villains was a bit more even. But you have to give it to these villains, they seem to be 3 steps ahead of the Ferals. When the Ferals are dealing with one problem in this book, these Mages seem to be working on the problems for future books! Just see how this one ended. Of course, now I'm very intrigued by the next book even though the heroine is Mosquito Brain. Sigh...I'll probably will end up listening to it sooner rather than later. ...more
