The main reason I'm rating this one lower than the previous three? The first 300 pages were BORING. (-1 star) This book could almost have started on page 300 and still have been great. I understand the need for back story, but I was frustrated and annoyed at how much I had to slog through to get to the main story of the book. I love Vampire Academy, but I have my reasons why I gave this book 4 stars. First of all, I WANT DIMITRI BACK AND NORMAL! I really like how Richelle Mead was able to give a new dominating personality to this Dimitri. She took a part of his humanity or dhampir traits away. He was ruthless and scary, yet there was still softness of Dimitri that you can feel. Like what Rose said, it's like Dimitri was there, but he really wasn't..

Amazing. Simply Amazing. That is all I can say. The book is just so consuming and has so many layers and dimensions. It was unpredictable and really got to me. I adore this series. Can't wait for the next one..... WHEN IS THE NEXT ONE SUPPOSED TO BE OUT?!?!?!

Once again Richelle Mead has left me begging for the next book in this series. This series has been one roller coaster ride after another. Shadow Kissed left me heart broken for Rose and now Blood Promise has given me hope for her. This was an awesome addition to the series. I can't wait for Spirit Bound.

So I really am not satisfied by this series. Not at all. I do not appreciate Dimitri taking advantage of and undermining Rose. I also hate the aspect of Rose not having more self respect for herself. This is quite apparent by this installment of the Vampire Academy series.
I absolutely loved this book. I can't wait for the next one!
