It's a sweet romance and I dtopped in the middle of the Solange and Dominic story just so I could get on to Zacarias' story. That said I'm taking a star off for the times Zacarias whined and went on about having a dark soul. Zacarias is exactly behaving like the very old vampire that I want and expect to find. This hardened hunter is so into the kill or be killed mentality that he is in essence a predator. He takes the colorless, emotionless existance to a new level. A Carpathian that old is pretty much set in his ways. I really like the treament of C. Feehan to really picture him as that.
