Ok...1st of the Carpathians novels I tried and I decided to give it a go because the lead character had the same name as me (which I still can't decide if that was something I dug or not :). Anyway, I got almost all the way through and then my willpower gave out to the next book I had on my to-read list. Why do I like these books? All the criticisms are true. I don't know why I like this series. I just do.

This is Lara Calladine and Nicholas De La Cruz's story. Lara is struggling to overcome the nightmare of being a victim of childhood abuse and has difficultly trusting others. She has become reliant on herself and is avoidant of help from others. Nicholas is the typical alpha male with the belief that he is right and everyone else should follow along with his decisions. This story has suspense, romance, and parnormal thrills.

This book in one word, forgetable! Well except for the annoying carpathian language! I did not like her previous book Dark Possesion either, but all her other dark books I loved. Here's hoping she gets her magic back for Dark Slayer.
