I'm a huge fan of Ms. Kenyon. I love her DH series until the most recent ones. And I feel like her recent DH novels are losing their originality. They're starting to stray from the original idea(s) of the Dark-Hunter novels.
I'm half and half on Sundown's story. I feel like the solutions were to easy for the obstascles, and they often made me go, "that's it?" It just didn't complete the puzzle for me. Lots of stuff came out of the blue. For instance, the whole Butterfly, Buffalo, and Coyote thin ...more

WOW...how things change when you get to book #20 in a series. In a nut-shell, it didn't being the heat. That amazing passion, dedication to duty and flair for the unknown fell flat in this one. I love the characters, but what were thier names again?
I hope that the next will bring it and dish up some Dark Hunter kick-ass sexy slaying this book needed.

Maybe 3 1/2 stars. Which is pretty sad for a Dark-Hunter book.
With all due respect to SK's Native American background, this book with it's Native American theme stuck out like a sore thumb among the Greek Mythology of the Dark-Hunter bookshelf. Retribution was too much of a departure from what I like about the Dark-Hunter universe for me to really cozy up to it. I missed New Orleans and the storyline involving Nick.

My Thoughts: I enjoyed this book overall with one small exception. While I liked Abigail, I had a hard time believing that Acheron (pregnant Tori or not) or the other dark hunters would just let her off for killing their own kinda with nothing but some simple barbs. It goes against everything we know about these characters and their world. I think I may have been more forgiving of this if there had been more hatred/animosity towards her that eventually diminished rather than straight "whateverne

Slightly different formula than most of the Dark Hunter books. This one used a lot of Native American Myths, well Sherrilyns take on it & her own versons. I did really enjoy this though.
The bonus scene at the end was the best part, you can never have too much Simi! :)

Okay I stayed up all night to read it and I gotta say I'm disappointed I expected my sexy cowboy to have a better story.
