Review of the series
The series gets 5 stars only because it was the one who brought me back into the world of books with a vengeance. It's a good series, don't get me wrong, but it's not a 5 star one for me, not anymore.
I rarely change my original rating of a series, though, since it was rated the way it was the first time for a reason - maybe because it was exactly what I wanted to read at the time, or because it made me think, or a few dozen other reasons, so 5 stars it is. ...more

This book felt disjointed. There's a bit about Edward and Bella in the beginning, most of the book is about Bella and Jacob's friendship and the fact Jacob has become a werewolf. Then the ending is Bella and Edward again. I like Jacob much more than Edward. There's something about him. Okay I like werewolves a lot and I'm partial to the name Jacob also. ...more
I ended up picking this book up at the bookstore and not waiting for the library copy to become available to me - I'm like no. 52 or even more on the hold list. This series is very much in demand.
The beginning of the book was slow and full of so much teenage angst that I wasn't sure if I was going to like th book and continue to read it, but I did - I really can't almost put down a book once I've started, I've got to at least skim it until the end. That was not the case here. Once I read about ...more

Everyone will think I am totally crazy, but I liked this book better than Twilight. I thought it had more intrigue and folklore, which I found fascinating. My only wish was that Bella would have spent more time in Italy...I like to be scared! I know many readers hated the fact that Edward wasn't as prominent in this book, but I thought it was necessary. I think we needed to see Bella develop other attachments and experience life without Edward. Afterall, if she really wants to become a vampire h

The pace is much slower than Twilight, but it picks up at the end. I will have to finish the series, but after having sped through Twilight and New Moon, I'll be taking a short breather and then diving back in to finish the last two books.
I must say, it's nice to read two full books in a series and not come across a sex scene. ...more

Only 4 stars, because it is so depressing and almost suicidal and Bella is just such a mess.

This one was the slowest paced and least exciting of the four books; definitely my least favorite. I did like the end and the introduction of the Volturi though.
