I am a Vulcan. Through discipline I have overcome emotional response. But this frakkin’ book got me right in the feels. There was sobbing and aching, gentle tears with throat frogs. Not just once or twice, mind you. Lots of scenes gave me unacceptable feelings. And the battles…awesome. Even the big strategy scene had me excited. I loved the couple, loved the conflicts. I couldn’t sleep after it was over because favorite scenes kept replaying in my head. Well played, Ms. Brook.
