The gist:
* Girl falls for boy
* Boy leaves town
* Boy returns to town (a werepuma)
* Boy realizes ... damn, I should'a nailed (I mean, claimed) her sooner
* Girl can't believe her luck ... oh, ok, if I have to be a werepuma to have him, sure why not, no biggy

Light and fluffy, this was a fun short story introducing the world of Halle Pumas.

Focused on Max, the Alpha of the pride and Emma, a "wallflower" girl who used to have a crush on him. Emma now owns a business with her best friend and Max, now a doctor, has just returned to town after years away and finally notices her.

Not entirely realistic but fun nonetheless. The second story in the series, Sweet Dreams, is about Becky, Emma's best friend and Simon, Max's Beta.

The story was very short--not even a novella--and the characters and plot were very shallow.

I read the spin-off prior to this so I had already met some of the characters. It was an enjoyable read finding out how Max & Emma got together. I do enjoy strong females who are a more realistic shape than most!
