Um.
Yeah...
Maybe it was the "InstaLove"? Maybe it was the crappy world building? Maybe it was the utter predictability of the story line? Maybe it was the copious amounts of jelly-ice?
Whatever it was - I. Could. Not. Stand. This. Book.
I only finished it because I was stuck in the car for 6+ hours and had packed my alternate books. Wow, this was not a winner for me.

I did enjoy the book. This plot was a lot like After Dark (Harmony Sereis) However I do like Lucus and Amaryllis better than Emmett and Lydia. Having said that, I like Harmony planet better than St. Helen's. The amber powers were more believable than than the psychic things. & the half/half fruits and the coff-tea were mediocre, to me but they're minor details. Since I already have the series. I will keep on reading.

Ah, nothing like re-reading an old favorite. This is the first book in a very enjoyable trilogy. It takes place on another planet colonized by Earth where the people have developed talents (but require someone with a prism talent to focus for them). Like all JAK's books, the heroine is independent and the hero is a loner and there is a nice, suspenseful plot.

4*s because even a Jayne Castle that I don't love is still an entertaining book. This one didn't hold my attention as much as the Harmony books (I think I missed the dust bunnies!) but I really liked Lucas and Amaryllis and am intrigued by the set ups for the books.
