I'm really enjoying this series. This one was a bit darker than the first but that was balanced by the appealing band of friends that make up this world and the main couple. It's a dangerous world that these shapeshifters, spellcasters and psychics inhabit and the politics of the shapeshifters that were featured in this book were particularly brutal. Derek and Nicole have an even rougher road to their HEA than Jackson and MacKenzie from book 1. But there's enough humor and camaraderie to balance

Yea what Mandi Said :) She said it way better than me. Great addition to the series, and I would encourage readers to read the first book first, because, while I'm sure this book could stand on it's own, so much happens in the first book to compound this one, that it's necessary. I can't wait to read Alec's book.

Very good. Things were shaken up a little with the Conclave. They desperately needed that. Satisfying end.
