BREAKS ALL THE RULES
I've got two books of my own published and have worked like a dog to achieve that. And here comes George R. R. Martin with this gigantic book and larger series and breaks every rule--and charms me! Totally. I have to say--I'm mad at the literary establishment. The teachers and professors at writing conferences tell us don't do this: And then Martin does, and it works.

Wow, I literally just finished this book. This is by far the best book in the series so far, and well worth the 4.5 star rating it has on Goodreads. I love that so many unexpected things happen, it keeps me on my toes, and makes me want to read the whole series. Most of my favorite characters are still alive, and I'm looking forward to seeing where things go from here. A quick peek at book 4 shows that I won't get to see some of my favorites, so I guess I'll have to read 4 then hop right into 5.
