(This review contains spoilers for book one) Considering the ending of Darkness Unbound, I was both super excited and nervous to start Darkness Rising. I really wanted to know more about what happened to Risa's mother but I was afraid that Risa would no longer be the her usual kick ass self, or that a depressing cloud would smother the book. I struggled a little at the beginning of his book but not because of the story but because I was trying to remember where all the characters fit in and what they could do so I went back and read the first book again and then I didn't have any more problems.
Risa is still on her quest to find the three keys which could open the gates to hell and she is also out to get her revenge.
The characters have really developed in this book and the story just won't let you put it down. If you loved the Riley ...more

I love Azriel.
I love Azriel.

I really enjoyed this book although not as much as the first one. I like Risa, she has a lot of Riley's qualities yet there are enough differences to differentiate them.
