Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Spoilers are finally out eh? I didn't read it. However I read the reviews that are spoiler free and JOnah, yes Jonah, was mentioned way too much for my liking. Guess that answers my agonizing question. Nevertheless, I would read it for the satisfaction of hurling the book on my wall..if it ...more

I was a little apprehensive about this book after Hard Bitten an all that happened in that book.
With Drink Deep, it just didn't grab me in the beginning like the others did. It was missing something, Merit was out of sorts and that transferred to me. I was pleased with Merit's handling of things in this book, she really grew as a character.
The big bad - what can I say. I actually shook the book a little and shouted "oh for God's sake! Open your eyes woman!!!". I saw it coming a mile away. But ...more

Minus 1 star for the ending pissing me off!
Minus 1 star for the ending pissing me off!
This book starts two months after the last one and Merit is dealing with the loss of Ethan.
She has the weight of the world on her shoulders by trying to figure out what magical force is behind the havoc on Chicago's elements, her BFF's mood swings, a GP asshole in her house, and trusting Jonah to be her partner.
She steps up to the plate and puts herself in danger quite a few times to help save the vampires and humans. I felt that Merit was getting the closure that she needed and then the last p ...more

Well it wasn't my favorite of this series but I didn't hate it. Love the fact that Ethan came back. I think that he and Merit have lots more life in them.
Love the way that Jonas has evolved.
It wasn't as action packed as some of the other books but I think that Chloe Neill is building towards something big.
She has a number of questions to answer in my opinion.
I enjoyed it and look forward to what she has to come in the next book. ...more

Squee! Loved the ending!! Thank the lord for miracles...this is why I read fantasy! Never say never! I liked this book...was it the best in the series? Um, no. But I liked all the weird things going on and Merit and Jonah was fun to read. However, I am a loyal girl. No matter how swoon-worthy Jonah may be, he is NOT Ethan. Merit and Ethan are the only option here. I will not be satisfied with anything less!
Overall this was a blah-zeh in-between type of book that most series suffer from. I wasn't at all happy with how the last book ended, and my prejudice somewhat carried over to this book. Hopefully Ms. Neill's work will improve in this series because it started off so well. Keeping my fingers crossed. Cheers and Happy Reading!
