A good suspenseful story, but not my favorite of my series tbh. I liked Harlan and Olivia and would have preferred them to have more relationship time between drama. This is becoming more and more of a trend in Jayne's books though so maybe I need to just change my expectations. ...more

JAK is a go-to comfort read for me, especially as I've been reading her since at least the 1980's.

This was an interesting one as it melded together two long standing series against basically the same villainous organisation. And very cleverly done as well. Plenty of room now for more books.

I've been reading the Arcane books under all the authors pseudonyms since 2006.

Olivia is the key for the lost Vortex lab and Harlan gets to her first. Not Krentz's best work.

What I enjoyed:
* It was good to get an ending to the open questions from the trilogy
* I liked the characters

* Overall this was an ok story. I didn't feel much passion between the leads and the story wasn't that memorable.
