I think I will have to admit defeat with the Carpathian series. I want to like them, really I do - the world buiding is fantastic, the premises usually great, sweeping romance, plenty of action - but I just can't because the writing is so repetitive and I end up stalled, rolling my eyes and skimming - which I hate to do.

I gave up on this book and did not finish it. That has never happened to me with a Feehan book but she has been going down hill since Dark Celebration. Her lepoard book Burning Wild was just plain awful and I gave it away. Her use of the carpathian language and the healing chants are just tiresome and pull you out of the story. I wish she would just quit wasting time with these two elements and spend time on the story. Also she has just way to many characters to keep track of anymore. Does she e
