So I enthusiastically started this series with so much anticipation from reading so many good reviews on it. So you can imagine my disappointment when I was left with this feeling...
I thought a good portion of the plot, settings, magic system, and time traveling; was well thought out. What wasn't to well thought out was the characters, design, and the relationships in this plot. I've continued the series to the present book and can say that it does get marginally better. So if you stick with ...more

This is the second time that I've read this book. I enjoyed it the first time and the second time was just as good. I found Cassie strong capable, taking her choices for the most part into her own hands. Mircea well he sounds like a gentleman until you piss him off. I wasn't as action packed as the other books to come but it was about building the world in which Cassie and the other live. Introducing us to Cassie, Mircea, Rafe, Tomas, Louis, Marlowe, Pritken and all the others.

Okay, this book was like putting teeth.
I think the author had so much background and facts to relay to us, the reader. that the story became arduous. Finally at the end, we got a little sensuality and heat, which made me hang on. I like the characters, and love all the different facets of the vampires. But really, TMI! Just too much information. If you are a PNR lover as am I, less of the background and more of the present would have been welcomed.

I really liked this book a lot. I was warned that it may be a little confusing but I didn't have that problem. The book was fast paced and I didn't ever want to put it down. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

I'm glad I finished this one. I almost put it down, too many plots and characters all at once, its confusing. But I think I just might see what would happen next, I want to see who she ends up with. The romance is there, I just have to be a little patient.

I liked the story, but had a hard time getting into it (life is busy!) There was a lot of world building/background which seemed to weigh me down at times. But, I like Cassie's spine, and am interested in reading what happens next.
