Without having read the novella On The Prowl before starting this you'd be essentially dropped into a story that is a continuation of the prequel. Not cool. So, I had to stop and read the short story first then come back to this. It is a must read in my opinion since it sets up the foundation of Anna and Charles's relationship.

Cry Wolf starts off with Bran taking Anna and Charles back home to Montana. Anna has decided to move away from Chicago - and her shitty old pack - to live with Charles

What a fantastic ride this book was! I really love Anna and Charles together. The world of werewolves that Briggs sets up is intricate and believable. Anna is the perfect combination of a strong yet vulernable heroine. Turned against her will and abused by her old pack Anna is a survivor. I did not read the prequel for this series before reading this book. Because of that I felt a little lost in the beginning of the story. It felt like I was missing something and made it hard for me to get into the story at first. So I would recommend reading that first. I did end up enjoying the book though I dont think it was the best Patricia Briggs book that I have ever read. :o)
