Hex Hall, by Rachel Hawkins, you had me at prologue. I just loved how this book started out, a love potion gone wrong, and boy did it go wrong.
Hex Hall is about a teenager named Sophie, who finds herself sentenced to a boarding school for other kids like her, those that have risked outing their abilities. Sophie first day is like anyone’s typical first day at a new school. She ticked off a werewolf, got a roommate who is a vampire, got a crush on the bad boy, and turned down a chance to join the ...more

I really enjoyed this first installment of the "Hex Hall" series. What a great surprise!
The author provided great characters, an amazing storyline, a cool but creepy environment and blended it all together to make a great and enjoyable read.
We are introduced to the main character, Sophie, who has been raised by her mother and unfortunately has no idea what she's doing when it comes to being a witch. After numerous "issues" with magic, she creates a love spell which lands her into Hex Hall.

This book I would give a 3 ½ star rating. It is good, but not great.
I think that it was a little different as far as the way they incorporated the demons and stuff. However I do think that it was a bit on the cookie cutter side of the book.
I will read the next book if nothing else to figure out what happened to Archer.

I really enjoyed this book. A lot more than I though I would. I had to force myself to put it down so I could sleep. I really don't know what exactly it was about it that I loved so much, but I cannot wait to read the next one.

This book was awesome! I loved Sophia's sense of humor and sarcasm. I have to admit...I developed a bit of a fantasy crush on Archer...who I've come to think of as a witchy/assisiny Damon Salvatore <3. But anyway,
