What Members Thought

I liked this book a lot but book 1 was much better in my opinion. This again was a fast paced book following Sophie to Thorne Abby to get acquainted with her father and to make sure she wanted to go through s ritual called the removal. Sophie found out she wasn't just your regular dark witch but something much worse(I can't say or it spoils book 1 for you) so in this book we watch her relationship with her father grow. She wasn't raised with her dad nor did he ever show up to any birthday's or C

Sophie Mercer thought she was a witch.
That was the whole reason she was sent to Hex Hall, a reform school for delinquent Prodigium (aka witches, shapeshifters, and fairies). But that was before she discovered the family secret, and that her hot crush, Archer Cross, is an agent for The Eye, a group bent on wiping Prodigium off the face of the earth.
Turns out, Sophie’s a demon, one of only two in the world—the other being her father. What’s worse, she has powers that threaten the lives of everyon ...more

Hmmmmm.......even better than the 1st, I was glued to every page and flew through this book in no time, BUT -on a serious note - I would have given this book 5 stars except for the ending of it made me drop the rating a whole star. Yes, a WHOLE star, not actually wishing goodreads offered 1/2 star settings, 'cause I'm taking a WHOLE one for that ending :) (and no, it wasn't just because I'm eager for the next one....this time)!! Loved that the setting changed in this one and the pace was just as

I had a lot of fun reading this series, when I read Hex Hall I thought wow I hope the next book is as good as this one, but when I started reading Demonglass I quickly found out that it is BETTER! I loved the drastic change in setting, and I also liked the growth that we saw in Sophie. There was still a lot of whit and humor from the first book. I also enjoyed how Spohie grew to accept her magic and started using it more often and freely. I think my favorite scene from the book was the fountain

A fast paced sequel with a cliffhanger ending!
Sophie spends time with her father and learns how to control her powers, while trying to help him discover who is making demons and how, before a war is inevitable.
The book might be YA, but Sophie is mature enough and the story engaging enough to make it painless. Complicated situations and relationships, unexpected discoveries and betrayals and an unknown future, leave the reader anxious for more.

I really don't know how to rate this one because as much as the book kept me on my toes and interested the way it ended made me want to toss it out the window. Yes I know alot of books end in a cliffhangers and that is what makes us want to read them even more but this one just ended way to abruptly for me. But with that said I did enjoy what was their so I will give it a 3.75...LOL
