Not for the faint of heart or the impatient reader. Definitely worth the journey! If you enjoying plotting, scheming, complex plots then this story is for you. It does have a lot of illicit sexual scenes, that get pretty intense but they are important to the world building and the overall plot. This is one of those stories that evokes real emotion from the reader, you hate certain characters and feel great empathy for others.

The plot is centered around a courtesan who gets herself wrapped up in political intrigue, and the world reflects a mix of ancient, dark ages, and renaissance Europe.
