I had a difficult time rating this book. It started off great, the world Cremer has created is fascinating and I was interested in the characters. I had to put the book aside halfway through to finish something else and instead of picking it back up as soon as possible, I found myself putting it off. Interesting world building. Guardians/wolves don't have the usual transformation pain here. And the alphas seem like they're not alphas. Weird.
It is a YA... So there is alot of teen angst or teen rebellion. I find it hard that they're supposed to be 17-18 year olds. They sort of act younger. An actually acts older than his sister sometimes.

This one started out slow but picked up in the middle. I really like how different the werewolves and witches are in this story from other stories. Calla's personality was all over the place and her feelings for both guys didn't seem too realistic to me. After hearing all the Shay hate I was expecting to hate him but I don't. I like both Shay and Ren but I lean more towards Ren. I'm glad that Calla found out the truth about the Keepers and that she told Ren about what really happened to his moth

I really LOVED this book. I've had it on my shelf since it came out and I finally read it and can't believe I waited so long. The good news is the next one comes out next week, awesome!!
