Wow. Just...wow. You know when everyone around you tells you a book is phenomenal, different and unique, and you just have to read it because they swear that you will love it?
And you imagine that it could never live up to the hype?
A Rush of Wings lives up to the hype. It soars above and beyond the hype, grips you in its gritty, blood-stained talons and drags you through one searing image after another, forcing you to traverse the landscape of disturbed minds, fathomless pain, and offering a flee ...more

I'm not sure what exactly about this book I didn't like. There was something. Dante is a beautiful but Tortured vamp. He relives his horrific past in broken pieces as he cannot remember his life beyond a few years before.
Heather is a skilled FBI agent who has been searching for a serial killer and has lead her to New Orleans. Where she meets the reclusive lead singer of the band Inferno (Dante). She learns of things she never new existed out of movies and books.

I really enjoyed this one. I haven't read any of the BDB so I can't speak to those comparisons, but I enjoyed the changing narrators and unique plot. I think the male and female leads could have been developed more but hopefully that will happen in the sequels. Overall, I was engaged with the hunt for the serial killer and was fully on board with the twist concerning Dante's past. Also, really loved Lucien. He was my favorite character in the book.

i'm not sure if i liked this book or not. i read it but i won't be in a rush to read it again. i didn't get into it as much as i normaly would with a book i like. that's the only reason for a low rating.
I liked it better the second time around! ...more
