Some young adult novels fall into that category because the protagonist is a teen (Vampire Academy). Some end up on the YA shelves because the dialogue is teen speak (Marked). And, finally, some are there just because they’re books written solely for teens. Wings felt like the last set. So, do keep that in mind when reading a review written by someone in her late-20s.

This was an interesting take on Fae, one that I honestly did not expect. However, it was still acceptable. I always enjoy seeing peoples takes on mythical beings. The one thing in this story I could have done with out is the relationship drama that Laurel is most likely going to find herself in future books. Too many boys and one pretty girl seems to be a running theme in most YA books today, and it is pointless teen drama in my personal opinion.
