2.5/5 stars. My opinion on this book is likely tainted by the audiobook -- I really didn't like the narrator. Kind of ruined the story for me...
On a completely random note, the cover of this book makes me think some dude is being impaled by a palm tree. I know, I know. That's not what it is supposed to be depicting. However, that's what I see :) ...more

So I don't typically 5 star YA books cause well, they are just not at the level of PNR that I love to read about....but every now and then I find a good YA read and this was one of them! The mystery was great, the romance was G rated but written well enough that I can't wait to read more about Patch, and mostly the story line was enticing. I'll be starting book 2, Crescendo, today!

This book is interesting. I read it and I thought it was fairly decent as far as YA books go.
The concept of fallen angels was handled a little differently than others of its kind and that made it worth a read.
On the downside, the heroine reminded me a little bit of Bella and that irritated me a little bit. Teenagers are smarter than they are often given credit for, and they also develop some self-preservation. There are moments in the book (and no, I don't like to do spoilers) when it has that k ...more

Overall: The main storyline of this book worked for me and I look forward to reading book 2. There were some interesting twists in the story that kept me guessing and reading to find out what happened next. I'm also interested in seeing how the relationship works moving forward and finding out more about Nora's family's past.

I'd probably give this one 3 1/2 stars if I could. If you like teenage angst it's definitely the one for you! I'm glad I didn't buy this and I'm in no hurry to read the next one although I probably will at some point.
