I wasn't expecting to like this much and though there are some distinct flaws I enjoyed it - reading it straight through.
In terms of the characters I think they all suffered from a lack of consistency. Nora was a little too irrational - veering into the To Stupid To Live category of heroines and she takes alleyways in a bad area of town to confront someone she suspects of murder - while herself being stalked by someone else who wants to murder her. Weak - minded (underscored by everyone being a ...more

This one was a fast, easy read but totally uninspired. The story line felt forced and unpredictable. The main character was so stupid, I wanted to throw the book against the wall. Here's a great imitation: "I feel like I'm being followed, so I'm going to take short cuts through alley ways and make sure I don't tell anyone where I am." This really felt like the type of book that takes a really unrealistic look at teenagers today and tries to be cool and just comes off as out of touch.

Nora Grey is happy with her life and loves hanging out and working on the school ezine with her best friend Vee. Nora isn't interested in guys though, despite how often Vee pushes her at them...that is until a seating reassignment brings Patch into her life. Nora is fascinated by him and isn't sure whether to run into his arms or run screaming in the other direction, but what she doesn't know is that Patch belongs to a world beyond her wildest imagination.

I tend to loose my faith in humanity when a book like this gets more than 4 stars. I'm not saying it was awful. Especially for people who like the kind of relationship that involves a lot of unfounded obsession. But it reminds me of Twilight without momentum. It was the slowest book I've read in ages. I kept thinking, "Is there an end in sight?"

Hmmm...I'm still not decided whether I liked this book or not. I think it needs to digest a little bit.

I enjoyed this three quarters of the way but the end was a bit boring for me. Not quite as compelling as I expected given the cover, but not a bad read. I quite liked Patch, the angel, really interesting character, mysterious. I'm not really into the Angel genre to be honest, its probably why I wasn't so impressed.

Great story, fab characters, but writing could have followed better and I really didn't find Vee to be a good friend.
