4.5 Stars. This is such a unique series! I had so much fun reading Mind Games. It is literally laugh out loud funny. The main character, Justine, is a hypochondriac and Ms. Crane writes her in a very sensitive but undeniably amusing manner. Despite her neurosis (and this is an area where it might be a tad bit annoying to read – however it never is), Justine is likeable. MIND GAMES was definitely a book that I could not stop reading. It is labeled as urban fantasy, but I found it very different and unique. I find the characters in here more like superheroes. Justine Jones suffers from vein star syndrome and it rules her life completely. She fears of death and every time she has to go to the hospital just to check it out and she cannot stop. A hypochondriac as a heroine?! Interesting, yes! Not to mention different. Justine was recruited to help "disillusion" people who are not-so-good. When one is "disillusioned," their old self is broken down and when they rebuild, they are good.
This was interesting and I'm glad I read it, but Justine got on my nerves. She was just annoying. I liked the secondary characters. Could have gone with less love interests; Cubby, Packard, and Otto (yes, there are 3- not all at once, try for 2 and you'd b

Dam that boyfriend of her's, Cubby, I would've slapped him on a tour around the world for that. And he was crappy even before that, cuz after she got zinged again and that part where they go to sleep and she realizes he was going to break up with her... WTF? only that was enough reason to dump his ass.
And Packard - fck tard? O_o when I try to read his name
