Once I got past the parallels to Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld Series (Mainly revolving with Clay and Elena) I found I enjoyed the book. Faythe has flaws, is young, and wants something more from her life than just baring babies and being a wife. I respect that. At times she was childish, but she did grow in the book, and that's what I like to see in my characters. Marc was the dark version of Clay, complete with tortured past, being the enforcer, lover of the future alpha female. Ot

It wasn't a great book to say the least. Faythe was a very difficult character to like because she was rather immature for a mid-twenty person...it's as if she waited until 18 to get her teen rebellion going and has not gotten past that stage yet. Couple that with running from her problems instead of fighting the shifter system.
The shifters society is still living under the radar so some elements and rules of the shifter society was different a bit from other novels in the genre.

This was a great first book to this series. It's about shifters and no other paranormal being. It has the right amount of drama, suspense, romance, and bad @$$ness to make it great. I love to read about a female that can take care of herself, but isn't so rough that she can't be saved when the crap really hits the fan. Faythe can fight but she still has that femininity going. And the conflict between her and Marc, her ex-boyfriend and daddy's right hand assassinator, is just enough to make you w

Bloody brilliant! 4.5 stars from moi
As the main character, Faythe was...she was awesome. She was butt kicking and a bit of a smart arse, so you can't help but love her. What made me love this book even more was that I didn't get that annoyed by the characters-they were smart. Except for the emotional tantrums they had from time to time, they all had motives and reasoning for everything they did. I like that.
I want the next one...wonder what happened to the other bloke :O
