The writing is very good. Don't get me wrong. The story started out really good and then in took a hard left. In the beginning, there are unknowns: who killed the queen, how are they going to find the killer, find the love child, what is going to happen with the love triangle... I had actually forgotten that Rose could 'see dead people'. Then the old man helps mastermind Rose's escape and she goes on the run with Dimitri - too early in my opinion. I LOVE/HATE THIS BOOK! Only for the reason that it's the wonderful end to a fantastic series. I'm glad my boy won Rose's heart, but I feel bad for my little moroi. The Dragamir line thing was interesting and I didn't see that coming, well the choice was different. I didn't like a few minor (like really really minor) things but I thought that this ended perfectly. So. The plot was fast past in most places and didn't really have a stop point. This was a good end to a great series. This book cleared up the issue with Rose's love life. But this book also left a lot of doors open for the spin off series. Which I am so happy about. Rose made good choices and in the end Rose became an adult in this book. Overall, a good ending, but Blood Promises and Sprit Bound were better books. But this book is still a must read.
