Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy Series is a Winner. The sixth and Final book in the series does not disappoint, it is just as fabulous as all the other books in the series, actually it's even better. I felt like there was such a high expectation on this book and after you finish the book you amazed at how good this book is and also how sad that the series had just ended. Rose Hathaway has been locked away, accused of murdering Queen Tatiana. She's frustrated beyond all belief about being caged like an animal, but she has faith that her friends will be able to find evidence that proves her innocence. Unfortunately, her trial date get moves closer. They only have 2 weeks. Which gives them absolutely NO time. It's hopeless, there's no way they'll be able to save her....

Okay, you didn't REALLY believe that last part, did you? I hope not. If you did, I'm disappointed, because you should know her friends better than that. They're not going to let her sit in a cell, when the odds are stacked against her like that. They all band together to break her out. How? Well, it involves explosives, but that's all I'm going to tell you. Christian, Lissa, Adrian, Mikhail, Sydney, Rose's mom, Abe, Eddie, even Dimitri. They're all involved in some way. It could get them all in MAJOR trouble if anyone found out, but no one cares. Rose is innocent, so they'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

They ( and I won't say who goes with her) whisk her to a small town where--hopefully--no one will think to look. The intention being to lay low, while the others figure out a way to clear her name. Rose, of course, doesn't like this idea, she feels like she should be out there helping. Doing something, anything, to help. She is used to protecting people, NOT having people protect her. She HATES having the shoe on the other foot. So at first, of course she puts up resistance (She wouldn't be Rose if she didn't). Then she realizes that there IS a way to help. She can find Lissa's half-sibling. Of course she has to convince her travel buddies first...

Victor makes an appearance as well, claiming that he can help, but Rose is hesitant, and understandably so. Because after all, Victor has never proven himself to be a trustworthy person.

The book took many twists and turns, some I expected, some I did not. For example, Tatiana's real murderer took me completely by surprise. I'm usually pretty good at figuring out who the bad guy is, but nope. Not this time. So props to Richelle Mead, who picked the least likely suspect to use as the baddie.

I liked the fact that, despite the seriousness of Rose's situation, there were still moments that were absolutely hilarious.

Over all, I'm very very happy with the way it all ended. The only exception being how it was left with Adrian. I was rooting for him just as much as I was rooting for Dimitri. I wanted so bad for them BOTH to get a happy ending, so seeing it ended between Adrian and Rose that way was just completely heartbreaking.

With the spinoff series coming out, the optimist in me highly doubts that this is the last we'll see of Adrian or any of the others for that matter. Which still gives him a chance at a happily ever after!!!!

Vampire Academy fans can finally relax. All the loose ends we have been living with the past few years have been neatly tied up in the final book of the Vampire Academy series, LAST SACRIFICE. And just to make sure that the creepy, satisfied smile I've been wearing since release day remains, Richelle Mead has announced there will be a spin off series focusing on the tales of some of the secondary characters in Vampire Academy. Rose's story ends with a bang -- and a sigh, and gadoodles of laughs.

Vampire Academy fans can finally relax. All the loose ends we have been living with the past few years have been neatly tied up in the final book of the Vampire Academy series, LAST SACRIFICE. All those new to the series, yes, you can probably get away with reading this book first or as a stand-alone. But why? Just don't do it. The six books work together to make every comma and kiss worthy of savoring in this amazing finale. All the characters we love to love (Dimitri anyone?) and the ones we love to hate (Can I hear it for Queen Tatiana?) have their moments as Rose moves from all that defined her milestones as she grew up, into the mature, capable and steady adult we leave at the close.

This is the book that defines what Rose's future will be like now that she is a graduate of the Academy. She's been accused of murdering Queen Tatiana, Dimitri lost a big part of who he was while he was Strigoi (including his ability to love), Adrian has become Rose's rock, and Lissa is no longer the shadow behind Rose, but the Royal worthy of that protection.

In their combined quest to discover who the true murderer is and to give Lissa the power to vote on the council, resolutions to all the conflicts and questions unfold. There are more twist and turns than a sailor's knot. Just when you think you have it all figured out, surprise, think again.

I can normally read a book or two a day. This one took me four, yes FOUR, days to savor. I just had to take every single word slow and cherish the whole experience. I want to give a big shout out to Richelle Mead, and a Texas-sized thank-you hug for such a joyful journey and satisfying ending. Thank you for keeping the ride going. I look forward to visiting the world of the moroi again and learning more about some of those who intrigued me along the way.

I'm not much of a fan of Young Adult books. In fact, you can typically find my reviews in the erotica section. Still, Ms Mead captivated me with Rose. The tone was always mature, but most importantly at the center was a truly complex character in a well-scripted and interesting world. There was nothing young, naive or simplistic about Rose Hathaway, making her captivating.

And we can't forget the many hawt men of the Academy. Dimitri, Rose's sexy guardian trainer who can protect my body any day of the week; Adrian, the spoiled rich boy who falls for the girl on the wrong side of the tracks, and Christian, the tortured emo dude who manages to snag the attention and love of a princess. What's not to love, right?

Vampire Academy is a wonderful series, and LAST SACRFICE continues that legacy. New fans, start with book one and enjoy the journey. Long-time fans, prepare to smile, laugh, cry, cringe and sigh. It's all here, complete with the most perfect ending I could have imagined. Enjoy!

Loved it of course!!! So sad the series over though! Its one of my all time favorites! Im going to miss Rose!!

I was a little upset with how it ended though. I love Adrian and hated to see him get his heart broken! I knew it was inevitable, but I was still hoping he would walk away ok, not like he did! Plus I want to know what happens with some of the other characters like Jill and Syndney. I guess thats what Bloodlines is for! Can't wait for those!! ...more

I really loved this series and this book was a great end. I will miss this series, but hope that we get to reunite with the characters I love on occasion in the spin-off series. This book brought me in and kept me there all the way until the end!
