I'm not sure what all the hype was about to be honest. For two thirds of the book I was completely bored. It was a sad slow story about a girl who sees shadows, has serious issues with keeping a boyfriend and is strangely drawn to a guy who treats her like a Katy Perry song. I kept asking myself when am I going to get to the good part. This book was alright I guess. I was interested in finding out what all the mystery was about but as the book read on I became increasingly frustrated. Too much dragging out. I found my eyes skimming unnecessary paragraphs. Too many, "sorry we can't tell you yet"'s. I understand this is supposed to be a series but I felt I wasn't given enough to go on in the first book to make me want to read the 2nd one.

After a slow start, I found myself sucked in to this YA angels story - although it took an awful long time to find out that that was what this book was about. I was reading this for a book challenge about angels and it was only about halfway through that I was sure it met the criteria.
