What Members Thought

Where to start? So much has been written about this book, and truly, it is a thought-provoking fast-paced read. Collins has built and incredibly disturbing world, with echoes of human history that resound throughout the story. The main characters are well-developed and provoke a variety of feelings and impressions, but, even when they are at their most frustrating, they are ideal for the hellish world in which they've been born.

The weirdest thing just happened.
I started bla-bla'ing about the "The Hunger Games" to my fiance on our morning coffee time, and he actually listend.
He even asked questions! about Katniss, about her world, about the games.
Then, later that evening, when we got back from work, he asked me to continue the story....
And when i was done, b/c we reached the part where i stoped reading that morning, he said "well, what are you waiting for?! go on & read so you can tell me the rest of it tomorrow".
WOW.

An excellent book of survivalist tactics in a post apocalyptic setting. Lord help us all if the world ever comes to this.

Gostei bastante deste 1º volume, a premissa é muito boa e simpatizo com a Katniss. ;) Curiosa para ver o filme.

A great book but I thought that Katniss got away and won without killing ruthlessly, she only killed in self-defense or indirectly. I was relieved when she told Peeta that the romance wasn't real for her. I want her to be with Gale, her relationship with him has a better chance of lasting.

I finally decided to read this book and see what all the fuss was about. Reading the book description I wondered if this was going to be a good book, because frankly it didn't appeal to me.
Well was I in for a surprise! I was sucked in immediately. I woke up at four in the morning and had to pick the book back up.
Katniss is a very strong character who will do whatever it takes to survive and at the same time isn't ruthless. I am really looking forward to reading the next book Catching Fire. I may ...more
