Amazing, masterful, gripping, and a trilogy for all ages!
The characters are so well written and developed I feel like I know them. I am sure that the main characters and even some of the supporting characters have traits that we can relate to or see in ourselves. There were times when I was reading these books that I completely forgot that these were children. They were dealing with such harsh realities in their world. While I applaud the author for bringing her anti-war theme to a very pointed, realistic end, it was sad for me to see character I liked so much become these battered, emotionless, alive but not really living characters. Not that this series is by any means upbeat,, this is definitely the biggest bummer of the three. Very realistic ending, but not terribly satisfying for me. I did enjoy it as I did the others. But the problem was that in the first book Katniss was a very strong willed and dominant woman and then in the second and especially the third she is extremely whiney and cries far too much. I understand that the games would have changed her, but it's as though the entire character has changed.

Wow. What a finish! Wrapped up nicely...ok...not so nice in some respects. So sad. But the epilog left it on a high note, so, yea!
