I love the cover, first of all. I would put this right at average 1st book in a series. The story crafting isn't great, but adaquate. Once the mystery about what is going on is figured out, it is predictable. The goodness of the book, and why I will pick up the next one is that the writer is sucsessful in creating a distinct atmosphere, and it kind of reminds my of LA Ink, which is one of my occasional guilty pleasures. Shelves: series, romance, pnr, vampires, immortals, demons

After a couple of false starts I finally finished Afterlight by Elle Jasper. I like Riley, she comes across as a character that has made mistakes and is learning from them, Eli well he sounds hot but I kinda liked Luc and Josie alot they were intriging. I hope that that we learn more about what it is about Riley`s blood that is so different. The book is alot of world buidling which most first ones are and I like the sounds of Savannah through Riley. I will try the next book and see where it goes ...more
