I really want to give this a better rating for the easy writing style and the effortless flow which kept me hooked but I can't ignore this book's faults.

Throughout I got annoyed with Damen's constant excuses and apologies and from the moment after Drina attacked Ever everything got a bit corny and Damen's explanation of what he is didn't quite feel right. However I did love the thing with the flowers and their meanings and the way he gave Ever some of her confidence back. The Riley dilemma was

I really enjoyed this book - more realistically, I'd give this 4.5 stars. The writing was excellent and it had me drawn into it from the very beginning. It was an unpredictable read that pulled at my heart strings. I am definitely going to read the second one. Great read. ...more

Very good read. I put it up there, just under the Twilight series and the Vampire Academy series. The conflict is one which leaves you puzzled as to what you would do in those situations. This makes you want to read more to find out what Ever does. Highly recommended for those vampire lovers.

I picked this up a couple months ago, thinking it sounded good, but no real rush to read. I was, in fact a little bit leery of the high school world. However, it just pulled me in! By the end, I was just dying to know what they really were and more of the history between the characters. The characters were also quite interesting, and believable. I will definitely be continuing this series, and am quite interested in Riley's spin-off story, as well. ...more

This was a story about Ever who had the perfect life, but it was all destroyed by a car accident.
The car accident left her an orphan and with a new ability. Ever hides behind her hoodies and MP3 player to get through each day and then along comes Damen her personal savior. This book had a lot of twists and turns and I enjoyed it. I will be reading the next book in the series.

Not very much was exciting about this book in fact it was boring, and I'll leave it at that. I'll continue with the next two books, but if things don't pick up soon I'm going to drop them. ...more

I was quite indifferent to this one, stories in which death/dying take a huge part tend to scare me away. Still I had already bought the sequel...
