4 stars – Vampire/Young Adult
This provided a nice Twilight Saga fix while waiting impatiently for the "Eclipse" movie to come out, and I enjoyed Bree's alternate viewpoint and insight into the army of newborn vampires that battle against the Cullens.
But I think I speak for a large majority of Twilight fans that what we really want is for Ms. Meyer to move past her hurt feelings and wounded pride and just finish Midnight Sun, darnit! Seriously, the Meyer the Martyr routine is getting a little old ...more

I had mixed feelings before I started this book. When I think about the Twilight series, I immediately associate everything with Edward and Bella. The whole series is from her point of view (I refuse to mention Midnight Sun since who knows when that will ever be finished, if at all). So to read a book from another POV from someone who wasn't in the whole series, specifically a vampire that had such a small scene in the series, seemed odd to me but definitely intriguing.

First of all you rewally NEED to have read eclipseEclipse before reading this book.not the movie. the book.
it's a really good, book that probaly should never have been made.
why i say that is, i felt sad the first time bree died then this book comes out and you get to know her better, you find out about her fears, her loves and her friend. now i just feel sad all over again. i still think that bree would have made a good cullen :o(

It was definitely nice to see things from another perspective in the Twilight universe. I loved that the perspective is from someone within the story itself, but from someone that is unaware of the things that are going on. I loved Bree's coming together with Diego. I think that they were truly great for one another. I also liked her friendship, if it can be called that, with Fred. At the end I was thinking of how things could have been for Bree if she would have gone to Vancouver with him. I wo

This was an enjoyable read that I felt added another layer to the newborns when I watched the Eclipse movie.
Bree is an interesting character and I enjoyed seeing how red-eyed vamps live through her perspective and her interactions with both Diego and Fred. Seeing Riley through someone else's eyes was also quite interesting.
As Eclipse is written from Bella's perspective, we never got a real glimpse of the final battle, as she and Edward weren't there. We may not get great detail on it from Bree, ...more

A light short story by the author of Twilight from Bree's point of view. Bree is one of the newborns of Victoria's army and gives us the inside scoop on how things were for the newborns before the attack on the Cullens.
Nothing too interesting, nothing too vital to the story, just a little insight on the Volturi and their involvement in the attack. ...more
