I'm surprised to be giving this 5 stars! The reviews were so mixed!
Jim Heron has returned, having accepted his mission to save the souls of seven people as part of the ultimate battle between good and evil. The age old battle will be decided by the outcomes of the trials these seven face, some one acceptable to both sides, good v evil, had to be appointed to oversee them - that would be Jim.

Hmmm.
I did like the book. I am interested in the next one and still juggling thoughts about this one, so those are strong signs.
Cons:
It is written by Ward and I know after Zhadist how strong the author can write characters. In comparison these were underdeveloped. I love character stories over plot stories and this was most definately a plot story. I almost felt like I was reading James Patterson, not an author who started in PNR.

I had big big expectations for this book, maybe it’s because I love BDB and I thought this was going to be just as good, different but great.
It’s not… and by the way, the whole detective De la Cruz, Trez and even getting to “see” Phury somewhere was not right… I wanted a different city and characters, I don’t need BDB for a book to be good.
Anyway… the story was OK and I like Jim and Eddie and Adrian… I’ll read the next book but I’ll not be running to get it.
