★★★½☆ (This is a review of the audiobook.) When the opportunity to do this one as a “buddy read” came up, I thought I’d give it another shot. Especially since I was in a better frame of mind than last time. I also want to pick this series back up and thought I’d “refresh” my memory. I thought it was okay. Very predictable though because it is A LOT like J.R. Ward series (The Black Dagger Brotherhood). I think I will continue with the series anyway.

I really liked this book. It started out a little slow, but as soon as Lucan showed up it took off towards the awesome book galaxy. I did find myself wanting to scream at Lucan for being such a hard-headed male, but that would have been like screaming at water for being wet, fruitless. It all worked out in the end. This series is fantastic! I read this book in less then 7 hours because I couldn't stop!
Lucan, one of the few remaining Gen One vampires, protector of the Breed. Hot, hot, hot!
I can't give anything away, just have to say MUST READ. These books are expertly written, compelling storyline, HOT sex scenes and they flow seemlessly.
