What Members Thought

The whole time I was listening to this book I kept thinking this sounds so familiar. I may have read it before or read a book that is really similar to this. This was not one of my favorites. It seemed to drag on to me at times, the danger elements were resolved quickly, and there was very little action. Good book and I would have probably enjoyed it more a couple of years ago. I seem to be in a place where I gravitate toward dark, tortured, gritty heartbreaking angst, and nail biting danger.

Would have liked it even more if the sex had been a bit hotter, but even so I though this was a really nicely put together love story. You could see the growth in the characters as the story progressed, especially Julian, who has lost all sense of the person he once was (but I guess if you'd been imprisoned in a book for 2 thousand years - with only the occassional pass for a month of constant sex) you'd probably feel the same.

I really enjoyed this book! After reading the book jacket, I thought it was just going to be all cheese...but it was well-written. The story was thought out and interesting. The characters were entertaining and well-rounded and I LOVED that Grace wasn't a stereo-typical drop dead gorgeous girl. That alone made it a story I felt a connection to.
