4 stars because I really like Kira & Mencheres both separately and together. They're scenes together are the most enjoyable in the book. Kira is a great blunt, but not tactless, heroine and it's fun to see Mencheres stop brooding when he's with her. As far as the plot outside of their relationship, I thought it was pretty meh. The villain might as well have been name Snidley Whiplash for all his subtly and frankly I was a little confused at the end with who was in on what plot and what happened

I have a new vampire crush . Jeaniene Frost has done it again. She is the master of setting up a relationship between characters that has you panting and cheering along with them . I wasn't all that impressed with Mencheres in the Night Huntress books, but this book sheds him in a whole new light. A must read for anyone who loves a great PNR. Oh, and Vlad make an appearance in this book, can't wait for his own book;)
